"Let’s go back to basics. We have to hold the line on spending, first of all. Give the President [of the U.S.] the line item veto. Do a top to bottom review of every federal program and squeeze out any waste like we’ve done [in Massachusetts] with the Senate President’s leadership on those issues. It’s very important to do that."
